I was using TP-Link MR600 4G+, no complaints. I paired it with Digi prepaid Next because Digi was the only telco with good coverage at my place before I installed Unifi.

You need to check which telco has the best coverage at your 2nd home and decide from there.

Unlimited hotspot depends on the telco, some routers can bypass the limits

For router...
Basic ones, you got various TP-Link models as well as other brands like Tenda or ProLink
There's also a lot of generic no brand ones on sites like shopee, some can bypass telco hotspot limits

For high end, you got Huawei B618 or Mikrotik Chateau (for advanced users),

Check your tower first. Which one near your house.
https://www.cellmapper.net/

Then get Mikrotik LTap Mini LTE. LTE4 class
Buy sim card that is nearest tower to you.

Best is that the Mikrotik Mini are really small can bring to hotel or vacation by just plug in Handphone rechargeable battery.
You can even track your car with this also.

For Maxis can sub line at RM15 permonth. Use your handphone data with this sim. Tak cukup beli or top up.

It was a old plan, it used the main data no hotspot restrictions.

Maxis has unlimited wireless broadband but you must check and confirm their T&C FUP (300GB), during the pandemic maxis throttled the speed from 8-12 pm, before u sign up. Do you know which telco coverage is good at your 2nd home?
