Hi everyone! Cut to the chase - my new job offer has these terms:

1) "Probation is 3 months....However, it may be extended at the absolute discretion of the Company"

2) "You must when required to report to work on days other than those stated above and/or work beyond normal working hours. The Company reserves rights to change your working hours. The Company reserves rights to transfer to work at Customer's site and you shall observe Customer's working hours"

3) "U may b required to be trnsferrd at any time to any part of Malaysia ...."

4) "The company reserves rights to amend the above terms..."

Are these terms and conditions normal? I feel like signing this means the chain is locked onto my neck? Also any tips when accepting a new job offer? what are the do's and dont's?

Thanks in advance.

you can sign 1st and see how thing goes, if you're not happy u can still resign right? its not a bond or something, right?

if you are efficient dont think you will need to work OT...

If u are working for business solutions companies obviously u may need to attend support/developer works at client site at other states/countries
Also slight time variances as some companies starts work at 8am or flexi hours till 6pm or malls even 10PM.

All these u will either gets OT or allowance please do check with the HR before u accept the job.

If u think its too much inconvenience then move on

Yeah I can sign first but I just want to be on safer side that's all. What if during probation all's good and when signed up permanently, all kinds of trouble like transferred or unusual working hours show up?

Thanks a lot! That explains it all. But yeah better to check with HR first. So these are indeed normalised terms and conditions. Any other tips for a newbie accepting an office job?
