Thank y’all for replying… it was a short term full time job (8am-6pm daily mon to fri for one month), so only agreed the work details in WhatsApp. No epf no socso… does WhatsApp conversation counts as official offer/contract/letter?
Whatsapp should also be binding (if i'm not wrong), because its still a written reply. When you say "no EPF, no SOCSO" it means you've checked your EPF account and no deduction/ contribution? Or its no because it wasn't mentioned by the boss...? QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 7 2023, 02:10 PM)
You might as well list down your working days for Feb and March. Labour dept is quite strict.
Labour law is favoring employees when it comes to deduction. So for February, 1100- (1100/28 x number of non working days including weekend prior to hiring you). So for March, it would be 1100-(1100/31 x number of non working days including weekend after your services is terminated).
I included weekends since your boss given you a round monthly figure and not part time rate per day. If the amount does not tally, you can ask labour dept to calculate for you.
Yeah it doesn't seem to make sense that they underpay by only RM150 on purpose. But regardless, when in doubt its always good to check.Labour law is favoring employees when it comes to deduction.
