Hi,

Would like to ask about the tile grout colour selection.

Currently I'm going to install white colour tiles (2x2 marble pattern) for my kitchen wall, and I always thought that the grout will be white colour. But my contractor informed that there are people doing different colour for the grout e.g. light grey grout to match with white colour tiles. May I know if this is common? And normally how to match the colours?

Also about the shade of grey grout, do you mean you use the grout from Mapei brand? Searched online and see that they have a few types of grey, may I know which one is yours?

This is depending to the end user / owner …white is the safe colour and but in time you have problems with the grout colour due to accumulated dirt/dust …. Which people can easily see….
Light grey- dark grey can reduce this issue … kinda like a camouflage for grouting ….

You can check the selection colour under SIka Davco grout…

How to select ? Check your overall design colour palette … example your kitchen colour pallet …. If not, counter balance with your backsplash colour ….since you are using marble pattern type … match back with the vein colour..(example )

Well my contractor said white grout would turn yellowish / brownish later on... Few years down the road...

So using darker shades / colors can escape the issues 😔
