most reliable is to get spare sim and test on your own - other people feedback is skewed based on their phone model, usage pattern and location

QUOTE(fireballs @ Apr 3 2023, 11:22 AM) people don't need 5G but the network needed itsame scenario as streamyx back then...it's slow and the whole network is congested u resolve by using unifi/fiber/faster speed to resolve the congestion one 5G can resolve multiple 4G tower problem |

Been using 5g for months and I can say I really much prefer on 5G than 4G.
5G is fast. Way faster than 4G. Period. But 5G in KK is not very stable. City centre an get huge gaps like 200-800mbps. Outskirt abit 200mbps+- |

I am an expert on this subject but my opinion can only mostly apply to myself and YMMV due to different location, coverage and phone spec. Yes is the overall champ due to fast 5G NSA speed ( 4G connection on 5G infra ). While it's 5G isn't as fast as others but battery life considerations, coverage and stability, 5G NSA is still the way to go. Cheapest and got unlimited data some more. Sure you can get always on super fast 5G with Unifi but your phone will revert back to 4G once your phone overheats due to superfast 5G and during out of 5G coverage area. To make things worse, it's 4G connection speed is only 5Mb which is atrocious and they also removed unlimited data since Feb. Celcom is the worst with too many hanky panky plans and it also heavily throttles mobile connection even on 5G so I rate it the worst of all. As for umobile, haven't really tested it yet eventhough it's my main line for phone / sms and will only test it if their plans are competitive like Yes. I upgraded to unifi 5g Rm89 plan, however I faced some issue on my s23+, speed test is fast about 400mbps , but when open youtube streaming only 360p, if switch to 1080p will show buffering screen. But if I shared Hotspot to PC, internet and youtube is fast.

Im using both lines. Tbh unifi coverage is so bad. The last time went to Perak, Penang had really bad coverage in half of the areas I visited. Even in the middle of Damansara Unifi put misery in my life. Say no more for Unifi
For Celcom the line coverage is great. Most of the places can reach(Perak,Penang, Johor, and Selangor). For 5g my Celcom can reach 1.2gb so for now I am satisfied with Celcom coverage |

Even in the middle of Damansara Unifi put misery in my life. Say no more for Unifi I use umobile 5G on my 14 pro xiaomi. My wife use pura on digi celcom. For Celcom the line coverage is great. Most of the places can reach(Perak,Penang, Johor, and Selangor). For 5g my Celcom can reach 1.2gb so for now I am satisfied with Celcom coverage Based on my experience, if umobile now days are great no issue at all on 5g (if certain loc revert back to 4g den eat shit liao) Umobile data consumption (I downgraded years back to rm38, I don't need such plan anymore since office n home also using 500gb unifi fiber with X60 router). Digi celcom data consumption if use alone seems ok, but to share even 1 device are totally not suitable, too fast finish. If by coverage digi celcom now are more stable that years back. Juz plan wasn't that interesting since they merge with this cilcom dinosaur.. Useless company. Therefore their plan price now like dinosaur. |
