Hi, I have a 3 Storey house, my fibre modem is at the ground floor and my master room is at the 3rd floor (up the stairs twice). It's about 6m up and 9m diagonally to my room.

I'm using a Tenda Ac18 and it can reach my room at 2.4ghz about 2-3 bars but not very stable.

Any suggestion for a good range wifi router? I'm thinking of tenda Ac23 but maybe here got any better suggestion? Price preferable reasonable la about 200+ huhu 500 max

I got read around and some mentioned tplink ax73?

There's also asus tuf ax5400 then change region to Australia?

Both about 400-500 range. Which is better or any other alternative?

I prefer to maintain the speed, from what I know mesh router will still decrease the speed

Put your wireless router on the 2nd floor at the middle point if your unit .should give a better coverage then .

Suggest you take a look at carousell and grab Deco M4 there
Mesh will definitely faster than your single router going through concrete slabs

Ideally you would want to have ap on each floor.
Otherwise you would need to use low gain antenna so the beam would be more circular and cover vertical height as well.

Buy a second hand Deco M4 or Deco E4, they are crazy cheap

Much better than whatever low end router and even some WiFi 6 router

3 story, RM200 is not happening.

A single router will not cover it all with good speeds

Mesh with wireless uplink yes it will reduce speeds, but not as bad as your current situation
Mesh nodes connected with wire is best

Please invest some $ into your networking setup
Or upgrade plan / recontract with ISP to get mesh nodes for free*

*24 month contract usually

OK after talk to the wife she agree 500 max

What is good within this range ya? I saw Asus tuf ax5400(RM482) and tplink ax73 (RM400). Which one good or better alternative? Currently I'm using tenda ac18 can reach 3rd floor but sometimes not stable suspect is the beamforming.

You're the first person to free mesh wireless will reduce speed, if I can connect via Lan cable, I wouldn't need to look for a long range router right. Haha

I can confirm with you even a cheap mesh Wi-Fi like the Deco M4 will provide double or triple the speed on third floor than both AX5400 models you mentioned even after you factor in the speed reduction.

BTW, if you opt for the single router solution, you will still rely on the 2.4GHz for the third floor. That's not going to solve your stability issue. And, you'll find it hard to find a Wi-Fi 6 router with better 2.4GHz range than your old Wireless AC router.
