Getting Started

|
I have a slight rattling sound coming from the passenger side door. It used to occasionally come and just closing the door a bit harder would usually do the trick.
I assumed the door was vibrating so I pasang those door gaskets, the one I got was for the B pillar section. Unfortunately, the sound is more prominent now.
I suspect it might be the window. Even when I rev the engine at idle, around 1500 rpm and at 2500 rpm, the sound comes.
The windows goes up and down fine, without any issues, no squeaks.
I am going to remove the gaskets to see if they are causing the problem. But if it is still there, I have to assume it’s the window.
So, is there any solution for this? There are no squeaks or anything.
I have my service coming up in less than 2 months, and I plan on asking them but the sound can be coming annoying at times. Plus, I am sure the SC will say it’s a common problem. FYI, it’s a proton. I had wind noise when going at 90+ km/h, and the SC just tried removing and reapplying the gaskets, to no effect. So, I can anticipate their response.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Have you look at the latch on the body side? Sometimes that one becomes loose and cause rattling.

With the qc of proton, it's more like a feature to help to keep you awake.
Squeaking sound and rattling sound are very common in Proton car. Ask service center, normally experienced technician can help you.
My proton having same problem, so no more proton after that.

Check the door release cable. Had a wira back then and was having on/off rattling sound from the door. Took the panel off and can see the door release cable is not clipped properly. Pushed it in and problem goes away.

Wind Noise = design issue. Not much you can do unless you can modify the design.
Rattling noise = door internals. Need to open up the door to check for the cables inside vibrating with metal parts.

For CKD (or even Thai/Indo CBU) - rattles are a feature, not a bug.

Dismantle door cover only can see where the rattling coming from. Can also ask accessories car shop to help check since your issue can replicate at idle 1500-2500 rpm
