Need to do a survey here about rental room in NY, how about the low cost one? I still can't find a property that with one room can less than usd500/month. If for a student rent room there, it should be too high the expenses.

The best place to ask is your University Housing peeps for suggestions.

depends on what kinda house u want. A victorian share house ? a studio apartment ? In NYC, get yourself expected rm6000 - rm8000 for a 500 sqf studio apartment. But, still, it is cheaper then London Borough.

Im curious why you ask Malaysia ppl about New York city rental price Lol. Think you should have a better chance asking people in forum whom s from NY itself. I ve been there once and the cost of living is nuts.

Generally their cost of living one of the highest in the world ... try to get yourself accommodation in the hostel.
Cheaper and more fun to mix around

Actually not true I would say. I thought London and Tokyo both were way more expensive than NYC, and this is coming from someone who lived and worked in NYC.
