if you have the passion and can suffer for few months,i think its probably a good move
in 90% of the time, coding job doesnt required you to understand how bits work and how your code created an object and stored in which part of the memory etc, but requires other skills like communication and domain knowledge, if you have some domain knowledge on accounting, it will be helpful in your IT career for sure
