I use both, no difference. Just quality of the cable different.

non mfi will easily get the non-compatible notice and no function especially everytime you update your device. I have thrown countless of these cables

no and no issue for me cheapo cables, no error msg ever appears. only original cable when dirty gives me error messages

For CarPlay and Pc data transfer I use ori cable.
The rest I use normal non mfi cables

for my old ipad air which is 10 years old i need to use MFI cable. For ip14pm i can just use el cheapo lightning cable without any issue.

To be frank, it is not necessary, even the original apple lightning cable spoils easily.

it is the connector of it that is too fragile which it breaks easily after some usage. my experience to them are all the same. no matter mfi or not mfi. since iphone 6 plus that i owned that uses lightning cables, i had bought tons amount of lightning cables non-stop. and i even need to keep spare at all time becos i know that they will break.

so nowadays i only buy those cheaper brands like baseus which the quality is decent that can lasts for a while even it is not mfi.

When USB C comes along on all iPhones, MFI will no longer be relevant. Any reputable brands will be just as good.

As of now I still prefer MFI though because lightning is still proprietary spec.

Always have charging issue with non mfi cable, sometimes plug out and in to detect and charge iphone.....so i use only mfi cable...

Just to share, there was a sale once in Ikea in sg in as-is section for only $2 (USB-A to lightning), i heard.....only if u were there, u buy 5, can last till the end your lightning devices.

currently got both , the non mfi certified cables basically for travelling and also at the office
