I just done my monthly antenatal checkup at kk (week 12+1day), that morning i ate 2 slices of butter kaya spread thinly + a glass of 2 taufa scoop of milo mixed amway protein (645am)

the urine tested 2+ for the glucose level (815am) and BSP reading is 7.9 (9am something), and i just felt it was a bad bad results.

and after nurse consulted with a doctor, i got arranged for a early air gula two day after in week 12+3day, second one will be on week 28th

my hb level tested 13, which is raised from 11.2 and i was happy with that, eventually got bad news from the glucose test...

actually my mum is having mild HBP under mild medication and no sign of diabetes, my dad too is the same...but my mother's side parents both got diabetes history.

cry.gif i think i got some of the symptoms indicates GDM, which the thirst i cant controlled, i constantly got so hungry and my weight (53.7kg) drop 0.3kg from previous 14th feb reading.

even though not really got diagnose with GDM yet, but already emotion down liao

mind to share your pregnancy journey and the daily diet?

im now reduce the carb which includes white rice and noodles and bread, i increase my amount of vege and protein, im not keen on meat intake becoz i got no desire after pregnant (before this i was more like a vege-style , eat meat sometimes, but i cant live without vege)

Retest again. You don't want to born a baby underweight. Sometimes during this period it mess up your sugar level.
My wife was told to cut down sugar level end up baby underweight.

i got the glucose meter and test my glucose after dinner (that day i ate a small laksa) 2hours it shown 4.4, a bit weird , i will keep monitoring my glucose level...

wait.... baby underweight is not nice and need lot of medical care and attention, i thought Ultrasound scans can help to tell the baby growth? or it was just inaccurate?

how's your baby now? hope he or she is healthier day by day

She is 4years old now but abit small size.
Ultrasound is not so accurate.
Tips for you give breast milk and powder milk together.
You got balance baby.

Powder baby is super fat
Breast milk super skinner

Best is to give them both.

Try not to eat nonsense. Eat better good quality food. Not asam laksa

That's why better go for morning checkup.

My wife used to go for morning checkup (light meal and no drinks) and was fine all along. Then one weekend, gynae was fully booked for morning sessions and so we went for afternoon checkup. That was when she was diagnosed diabetic (actually most pregnant women suffer temporary mild diabetic at some point of their pregnancy). Take the blood sugar test and she failed. We were advised to monitor food input and measure blood sugar after every meals. After 2 week or so, nah, just gave up and eat normally. The thing is it just took a bit longer for blood sugar to went down compared to their test requirement of 2 hours. We faked the blood sugar monitoring list to appease the gynae.
