the contractor looped the earth and neutral lines with the nearby points

for the 1st method? what's the 2 points on the right hand side for?

sometimes it can support external switch also, like my Hager timer can have the switch to switch it on/off also beside the auto on/off by the timer.

edit: just saw the 3rd method, i think this is what you need right? with the switch for manual on/off also?

in order to use the 3rd method with the manual switch, i think you need to place the smart switch next to the existing wall switch, and re-wire it as per the diagram shown. but need to also make sure that there's a neutral line next to the existing switch. coz if it's just normal switches for lights and fans, there might not be neutral line available there.

No neutral at the wall switch.  sad.gif  So, the smart wifi switch has to be up the ceiling where the fan is.

too bad then.

but maybe can check if it can support wireless battery powered switch? if you really need to have the manual switch
