Hi everyone, having problem with my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26a printer after changing desktop PC.

It used to work normally with a desktop using Windows 7.

But now after changing to a new desktop PC installed with Windows 10, the printer job queue takes at least 5 minutes to process.

Connected by USB.

Printer model : HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26a

PC Specs :
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044
Other OS Description Not Available
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
Processor IntelĀ® Core™ i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. P1.50, 17/12/2014
SMBIOS Version 2.8
Embedded Controller Version 255.255
BIOS Mode UEFI
BaseBoard Manufacturer ASRock
BaseBoard Product Z97 Extreme4
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 15.7 GB
Available Physical Memory 12.3 GB
Total Virtual Memory 18.6 GB
Available Virtual Memory 15.1 GB

Steps taken to solve issue :
1) Installed printer manufacturer driver(s) (all ran separately in different sessions, not installed all together):
1a) HP LaserJet Pro MFP M25-M27 Series Full Software and Drivers
1b) HP LaserJet Pro MFP M25-27 Series PCLm Print Driver
1c) HP LaserJet Pro MFP M25-M27 Series PCLm Driver Only (no Installer)

2) Ran without installed drivers

3) Installed HP Smart

Hopefully can solve issue without either buying a new printer or writing a new driver sweat.gif

Thank you.

My guess probably printer driver causing the issues

There are few type PCL driver you can check which driver suit for your printer

Recently found a pc running win 7 with similar problems with HP m15a. Decide to reformat the pc to windows 10 and the issue is solved.

Thinking back, it is very likely some of windows update caused this. But since it's a waste of time uninstalling the updates, and win 7 is not supporting chrome anymore, just reformat it.

Changing the power cord or a new USB printer cable, might just solve the issue. I'm serious.

You change new PC? i5-4690K? That's 9 years ago. Seriously, running Windows 10 on i5-4690K will definately stress your processor. By the way, your hard disk is running on M2 SSD or SSD or SATA?
