Age 6 is when kids are starting to be stronger so less chances of hospitalisation, the cost of insurance will start to be lower.
Life insurance is not a priority (but coverage cost is cheap, and many ILP plans you need to buy life coverage) since kids don't have economic value yet but critical insurance, personal accident and medical/hospitalisation coverage is important. Just commenting since don't see any replies, helping to bump this tered. Maybe you already got PMs from agents d. |

I would highly recommend to get medical insurance for your kid. However, the only option so far is ILP. I don’t think there is any option to get standalone medical card for newborn (pls correct me if I’m wrong).

yes, get the life insurance to cover for the disability portion. It cost alot of money to care for a disabled person. Special schools, extra helper, special food, modified homes and car, these cost money too. But main priority medical card, got spare cash then add the rest like CI and life.

Definitely a medical plan for kids is a must. My own kid admitted for Sunway due to serious constipation that cost us Rm3k just 2D1N 😓😓😓

I am currently paying about 200 per month for insurance plan that mainly covers hospitalisation only. |

I am currently paying about 200 per month for insurance plan that mainly covers hospitalisation only. there are more than one type of life insurance plan. i think yours is a basic one. the type that she bought, she required to pay the premium every month, then after a period of time passed she can request to withdraw out partial of the money paid for any reason. it is something like a savings account. also, maybe partial of the premium paid may be used for some kind of investment by the insurance agent/company (but the return is not guaranteed) |

Yes I bought one of those as well, but it covers mainly hospitalisation only. I didn’t add any additional riders to keep the premium low, as I don’t need them anyway. |
