sum people are still clueless about the skill level/rank system :S
i'll try to explain it thoroughly for anybody who wishes for a detailed explanation

for SKILL level, a player's skill level differs from each game type (for example, team doubles and team slayer) as you play a ranked game type, your skill level will increase or decrease, if u win or lose. Claiming MVP will give you a higher chance of levelling up.
Winning a Ranked Match will give you 1 EXP.

*not all wins will give you a guaranteed level up*


If you lose, you most probably lose a Skill Level, but NOT always.
You can see a general with a Skill Level of 1, for example, for team doubles.
But he might be at a very high skill level at Team Slayer, or Lone Wolves.

Your Rank, for example , Major, is predetermined by EXP, or EXP and Skill Level.
You need only achieve the minimum skill level required to rank up *given you have the required EXP* , in ONE game type, and ONCE to rank up.
(for example, i ONLY need to reach the required skill to be a major on LONE WOLVES and no other game type. after i reach that skill level, levelling down after a series of losses will not effect my rank) *of course you need the requred EXP too *

A players do not gain Skill Levels through playing social gametypes, such as Social Slayer or Multi-Team.
Players do however gain 1 EXP for a win in social game types.
Players lose 1 EXP for quitting a game.
These game types are more for an enjoyable experience and thats why they have things like 'team rockets' and etc more frequently played on maps.

and hey guys, i have OPEN NAT, and so does my friend, but we can never seem to join each other, we have to ask sum1 else to host then invite us,
why's this?
(when we try join each other, it says "you have an open nat, which is most flexible, bla bla" )
but it says this on my screen when i try to join him , and when he tries to join me, it says that on his screen.

hey every1, i tried this and i got my NAT to open up.
if you type in your IP address that has been designated to your computer on any web browser's address bar, it will take you to your router's settings.
if you by any chance see a 'UPnP' option, enable it.
its Universal Plug n Play, if im not mistaken.
it helps two people connect two each other, so enable it , hope this helps.

Hey guys, ive just started playing halo 3 again, the reason i sort of gave it a break being that it was difficult to host or get a green connection when matchmaking.
Does everybody else have this problem as well?
(constant yellow connection, even red sometimes.
maybe 1 green connection out of 7 or 8 games)

It's out tmrw right guys?
Will GH be open? I wanna get this and guitar hero 5 =)
