After doing the "Test Xbox Live Connection", goto Edit Settings, copy down the Mac Address "00-ab...." and just in case u dont know which subnet ur lan is on, copy down the dhcp-assigned IP address for xbox as well.

Then goto ur router, and look for an option to assign static IP tied to the Mac address. Assign the IP similar to ur dhcp-assigned IP address, eg: 192.168.0.x or 10.0.0.x, 2<x<254.

Then you can either assign the xbox360 IP in DMZ, or you can do a port forward for port 88(udp) & 3074(tcp&udp). no one gonna hack ur box anyway, so just put it in DMZ n u'll save the hassle.

In case u don't get what I'm trying to say, ask for other's help or go bang ur head against the wall
