What is that part in grey called?Window frame?
What is that part(which is protruded) function and isit necessary to have one around the window?
Im going to extend that wall,so thinking to get rid of it which i dont think have any function.
And that window is really tall,i wanted to replace with a smaller one......slider one is on my mind right now.
Any other recommendations?

That is window coping - the function of a window coping is to prevent water from hitting the surface wall or window …

Normally it has a drip edging below to prevent rain water from dripping back to surface wall/ window ….from the picture you have already an above rc slab …. So the coping is more to design elements rather than functionality ….

So extension of the wall together with window without coping should be fine rite?

Yeap … no issue since your neighbour I saw in the picture doing front extension as well …so no rain water coming from the side as well… only your front extension .. I’m assuming is just a standard extension that the existing rc slab/ soffit can cover the rain water splash from front ….
