The initial planning is to produce 8 groups in which the top 2 teams of each group will qualify to the last 16 single elimination playoffs where the teams will duke it out from there to determine the winners. Due to the inevitable time and physical constraints, modifications to the above format will be done depending on how many teams that confirmed their participation.

We will also be using a seeding system to ensure a much balanced group stage than previous tournaments. The seedings will be given to 16 teams in which a maximum 2 seeded teams will be facing off in each of the groups. The basis of the seedings will be based on the 13 winners of each stage of the SMM Qualfiiers + 3 (or more) special seedings.

The order of the seedings will be as follows :

SMM Champion > 3 Special Tournament Champion , 1st , 2nd , 3d runner up (In order) > SMM 1st , 2nd , 3rd runner up

The special seedings will be based on the performance of teams in selected 3 tournaments in this order :

1. R-Matrix competition,Rawang.
2. Batu Pahat Dota Tournament.
3. ACG Malaysian Qualifiers.

The 16 seeded teams have been drawn into their respective groups. Most of them are drawn by their team leaders at the Rawang tournament and while the rest has been drawn by the marshalls to facilitate planning. The teams seeded are 12 winners of the various qualifiers + 4 special seeds ( INC-DOP , mKvL , DNA-SK , E-NSP )

Teams not seeded will have to go through a qualifier to get themselves in the group stage. The qualifiers will be played with each team playing 2 games with the same opponent. In the event of a 1 win 1 lose situation , the team that took the shortest time required to win will qualify.

Registration of teams at the 27th of October is 7.30 a.m. - 8.30 a.m. Teams that failed to register themselves at that time period will be Disqualified from the tournament.

The number of seeded teams will be 16. We will seed based on the order above.

To put it into perspective , the Rawang tournament is the last chance for teams to gain seeding points for direct qualifying into the group stages.

Thank for the update, but there something i not very clear about it..

There is total of 37 team.
16 team seeded = 16 slot left
21 team need to go through the knockout stage for the last 16 slot in group stage.

As i know, 10 major SMM stage qualifier have better seeding then the Revenge Revival stage, this is what Mr.Lim told me Last year SMM will give priority to the Stage qualifer first, if there is slot left, only go for Revenge stage.
But this year, Revenge stage are same with Stage qualify... and it totally different from Mr.Lim told me.
Rules are subject to change, but I got no idea why it happen like this, none seeded team still need go for qualifier match in order to play in group stage. Like that what is the purpose of having 10 stage qualifer?
I hope my understanding is wrong, and please... someone please explain this...

In an ideal situation , the 10 SMM stage qualifier should be placed much more emphasis. But with the various rules changes since the start of the tournament , we decided to place the same emphasis for all tournaments by priotising the winner and the runners-up in order for all 13 stages.

Basically we are trying to preserve the format that Ian Mok devised last year by creating 8 groups in which 2 from each group will advance to playoffs in a single elimination format.
Due to the severe time constraints placed on us , we cant afford to put 5 teams in a group (10 matches needed to finish the group) but can only put in 4 teams (6 matches needed to finish the group). So we devised a plan to fit in all teams into the 8 groups of 4 where the teams that played the least matches , which are the qualifiers will at least play 2 games before going home . Sad as it may sound , but its the best we can come out with based on the circumstances here.

Anyways, it's unfair for State Qualifier. Who don't know State qualifier having more pro team competeting, where Revenge stage are having some team forms by those "already qualified player inside?".
Like that everyone should wait until the last SMM qualify stage only go, because before that already have alot high ranked team qualify jor.

Thing you have to know, there have different between State qualifier and Revenge state, Standard at this two stage are different, some team try many times at state qualify and they failed, but they can get champion at Revenge stage. ( i am sorry to say that, no hard feeling, not pointing anyone, just an example )
If State Qualify = Revenge Stage, why the prize money decrease to 50% while the registration money only reduce RM40 ?
can't understand Revenge Stage also can get seeded.

As we know Malacca is the Final stage for the Grand Final.
Due to SMM survey and request by many contestants, SMM decided to held the Revenge.
Revenge is not a certainty for this Grand Final and the prize money and regisration money is all determine by SMM and we have no right whatsoever to determine it. We hope for ur understanding and Lim didn't cheat u lor cause what he told u was told to him by SMM previously and we only know that there is a Revenge after the Final Stage.

As u think that it is not fair and dont wan to join the last stage for state qualifier and decided to wait for the Revenge.
What if SMM decided not to make the Revenge?? Do u think u can still join the grand final as u are able to now??

what i point out is.. revenge stage champion also count seeded team, that's unfair.

Last year got doesn't mean that it is a sure thing.
If it is assured that there will be revenge dont u think they will have mention it?
