I have no experience with Simon but I had few Schneider sockets, but I think it does not matter more than own preference. Even cheap switch will last like forever. Looks like both have SIRIM approval.

The only thing I would suggest (out of topic) is that to use universal socket. That way you do not need to use adapter for other types of plug pins.

Vivace quite modern and reliable. Almost the same as Clipsal previously.

Simon I replaced a few after 2-3 years. All melted especially those with LED indicators. The resistors overheated and melted the plastics.

actually i have this currently, and i feel that the quality/feel is not really up to the MK standard that they used to be.

but maybe this is from their budge range thus it's budget quality tongue.gif

For RM5 they're okay, at least the picture frame don't pop out by themselves from the long S... company Vivaleceh eco range

Do note universal socket lack safety features compared to UK 3 pin socket. Maybe that why they lack Sirim cert. If location have children, better not go for universal socket.

Alamak. Currently using the Simon i7 and the ones with LED's I keep on all the time i.e., easy to on AC.

Looks like I'm going to start turning them off now more often.

Sorry for bumping this thread after a few months
I'm shopping around for switches as well and may I know which one did you choose in the end?

Currently looking at universal plug style, not sure if I should pay a bit extra to get Simon E6 or try other budget brand such as reTouch ultra rimless series.

I went for the E3 since the rocker is bigger thus easier to on/off.

You should go with the design that you like, since those branded ones should last for quite long. I was only given these 2 options by my contractor so need to do with it. But I also bought some special colour/design one myself to match the furniture, wall colour etc.

Be careful on the universal type socket, as most are not Sirim certified (not complying with the MS safety standard unless you can get those with the shutter to cover up the live/neutral hole).

AvatarOn.

Vivace socket is flimsy and deformed if you screw it too tight. That cause the rocker switch hard to switch or become misalign the mechanism. Schneider Pieno series is even worst.
