My entire condo no water due to apparently Syabas/AirSelangor cutting water supply last night. The supply has been physically locked with a note saying "PEMOTONGAN BEKALAN AIR". The reason is Mgmt Office did not settle some outstanding water bill (MO claims it was paid but payment was rejected on technicality). Syabas say payment must be made before bulk meter is unlocked.

In any case, owners are paying directly to Syabas. In fact I have overpaid my water bill for months in advance.

Can Syabas/AirSelangor legally do this? Something tells me they can't simply lock water supply for everyone. Can I sue them?

Seriously damn inconvenience do this on a weekend night and doesn't look like got a resolution anytime soon.

Sure, Mgmt Office also need to kena for not taking Syabas payment seriously, but my issue is I am paying to Syabas directly so how dare they cut my water supply?

if you have a syabas a/c, they shdnt disconnect you if not overdue; maybe your supply comes thru the bulk meter

Yes supply through bulk meter. Even then, can they do that?

Sounds like u don't have a Syabas account directly.

The condo is on a bulk meter and the management bills the owners directly. When owners pay, the will have the funds to pay Syabas.

If bulk meter, Syabas can disconnect legally.

In the past was like this, but 3 years ago it changed and I am now billed directly by AirSelangor. I have an account and pay to my AirSelangor account.

So even thought it's directly billed now, it still goes through a bulk meter due to the legacy setup.
