Hi, may I check with the community about Cantonese culture/pantangs.

My grandparents recently passed away a few days ago. One of my colleague wedding will be happening this coming weekend. I know that I won't be able to attend the wedding, but is it alright to give angpau? Even if I am not attending? Will it be pantang?
