I knew about that long time ago. Why create new when you can just buy it, license it, import it... when the existing products have proven to be successful? This idea is nothing new. It is still happening in the 2D and 3D animation and many sectors. In fact, PRC has been more than happy to just buy chips from Murica and TW until Trump 1.0 gave PRC a wake up call which now prompted PRC creating its own 5nm successfully. No western imperialist media (MSM) will report that. Maybe some independent media. Not if u (like me) read/watch Chinese/HK/TW blue camp media. Talk about freedom of the press which is largely an illusion to fool gullible people with low IQ. 3D animation = Murica dominated 2D animation = JP dominated, then PRC comes 2nd (bilibili has its own original works) Do u not notice in end credit part of JP's anime with Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese names? JP studios have been outsourcing some parts of the anime for over a decade. I also know PRC has its own thriving platforms and ecosystem on manhua (manga) which u can buy/read online... but I'm not familiar with it. I know some Ang Moh also read Chinese manhua. The trend and pattern are JP then SK then PRC. Just call it "stages of development". Industry, tech, brands, pop culture, tv drama, etc. The world is changing fast and only losers (probably liberal and far-ring wing nuts) still using old world views to see things.
