Hlebroking is charging sgd12 and another sgd2 for every dividend of Spore shares, is this reasonable?
Some of my dividend end up zeroized after being deducted.

That's the thing with local brokerage firm. https://kclau.com/investment/trade-global-shares/
At least they have improved from 30 SGD "minimum" from the past to 12 SGD in your case today. As for your question if it is reasonable or not, if you compare with other local brokerage firms it might look reasonable. But if you compare with foreign broker it's way too expensive. SG brokerage firms charge anywhere from 2-3 SGD per trade with no dividend handling charges. |

QUOTE(TOS @ Feb 19 2023, 09:14 AM) That's the thing with local brokerage firm. https://kclau.com/investment/trade-global-shares/ Using one local broker, they only charges below RM10 per handling. At least they have improved from 30 SGD "minimum" from the past to 12 SGD in your case today. As for your question if it is reasonable or not, if you compare with other local brokerage firms it might look reasonable. But if you compare with foreign broker it's way too expensive. Open up a online broker such as Moomoo or tiger and do a transfer. Yes you need to pay to transfer. So up to you to see which is more cost saving. Pay transfer fees or sell and buy back.Make sure to open up sg bank account too and Sunway money to save cost. That's normal effect of using Malaysian based brokerage to buy overseas stocks. Transfer-in is usually free for most brokers, it is the transfer-out part that incurs charges. So, in this case, check with HL ebroking the transfer-out charges. Usually, if the portfolio isn't huge, it's more "profitable" to sell all stocks and buy back in the new brokerage account. |

I opened an account with a SG based brokerage firm, although the minimum brokerage and brokerage fees are higher than most, but I don't get charged any fee for dividends received from my SG stocks. Been using them for years and so far service is good. Some of my dividend end up zeroized after being deducted. |
