So I have an Iphone 13 Pro Max that was purchased together with Machine's extended warranty program.

I was asked by the Machine support to induce water damage so I can get a 1-to-1 exchange brand new.

Is this for real?

PS. Phone was brought in with faulty Face ID

Water damage usually not covered under warranty AFAIK.

That being said I heard of many stories that support ask user to break their purchase to get 1 to 1.

Reason is they don't want the user to end up with 2 devices

Not sure but my fren did maxis claim cos his battery edi work down after 23 months and he called maxis and said wanna claim warranty cos battery spoilt. They asked to pay online 900 bucks or something and he got a new phone in 3 days time. Didn’t have to sabo the phone or anything.

careful with that.... i saw some post about machines asking their customer to sabo their iphone.. but end up the customer kinda pissed.. I forgot how it turn out with that story. But it was not a happy ending for the customer.. cause that's how it usually end up viral/facebook post right?
