What are these things in a landed house?

Can we cover them or relocate them, so the space is unable?

Picture no.1 - earthing chamber - very very very important for any landed house ….
The earthing is a metal conductor that connects all the electrical appliances and that taps off leakage current to the earth .It an essential part of every installation, since this earthing or grounding prevents electrocutions from happening…


Picture no.2 - surface water drainage - water would flood the area around your house. Drains collect the surface water and this flows into a public main drain system.

Picture no. 3 - sewerage manhole …. Submanhole before going to main public sewerage drain…


Errrr you want to relocate ? And where do you want to relocate. Because looking at the picture you have about 3ft width space ….and shifting the manhole will cost a lot of $$$$$ because that is the last manhole discharge to your main public sewarage system …. The last manhole is the deepest … doing manhole requires at least ratio 1:60 gradient….

Question about earthing chamber.

1.Can we be near or step on it? Will get electrocution?

2.can we put electrical equipment like fridge or washing machine on it /around it?

3.also any idea to cover the drainage and manhole so that pest won't enter the house, in the case I cover the space up?

answers..

1) ok to step on it...but don't purposely step on it ya. ... it can hold certain amount of loading only... the chamber is made of concrete. Electricity does flow through cement.

2) can put around it. no issue because the copper rod is directly piled to ground.... is this new or old house? if it is new house, i suggest you find a good electrical contractor to check your earthing reading... because sometimes a developer or the main appointed contractor will short cut the works or installation done wrongly...a house supposed to have a reading below 10 OHM... but you need to have the OHM meter or Earth Resistance Tester equipment which basically an important tool for electrical contactor....

3) surface drainage you change using custom made with perforated holes with wire mesh.....or just find a precast drain cover with openings that you can modified using steel mesh.....
