Hi all, Got a question about mounting of a built-in gas hob on a concrete table top with 2x2 tiles. Normaly the hop will need to be installed across at least 1 joint since it's longer than 2ft. And from my current experience, after some time the foam below the hob will hardened and water will start to seep into the area below the hob via the tile joint line (red circle in the sample picture below). May I know do you normally install this? Do you put sealant around the hob? On my previous hob, the contractor put some silicone sealant around it but it doesn't look good. So wanna see if there's any other options in the market. Or is there anything that the tiling contractor can do to this joint line? Thanks

How about putting sealant along the edge where the hob will sit flushed with the tabletop, then mount back the hob?

Even with new foam gasket, I doubt it will be watertight due to the "valley" between the tiles.
