i just started trying ubuntu 7.10 and its always hang. maybe about after 15mins, it will hang suddenly, no matter browsing, updating, tweaking setting... randonly.
system hardware: amd64 3200+ ddr667 512mb ati radeon x550 IDE hdd, 1 partition for ubuntu both 64bit n 32bit gives me the same prob |

Oh, and by the way, if you don't want the Xgl with ATI cards, you need to whitelist fglrx from the Compiz wrapper (/usr/bin/compiz), and install the latest 8.42.3 driver (available from ATI's website). Read the last post from this thread. btw, i install same 7.10 on my pc at home, no hang prob at all. not sure wats d prob causing d other (better) com hang  |
