What's a good > 250cc scooter.
Recently just gotten my B full license and is surveying for >250cc scooter.

Currently what caught my eyes in terms of appearance is XMAX 250 but sadly only 250cc.

I sat on a SYM Maxsym TL500 last week. Not bad for its specs and size, but I worry about SYM reliability.

come share with me whats good on the market.

Since you didn't specify mention new scoot or 2nd hand...

1. Yamaha T-MAX DX 530(2nd Hand)
2. BMW C400 GT/X (New)
3. BMW C650 Sport/GT (2nd Hand)
4. Aprilia SRV 850 (2nd Hand)
5. Aprillia SRV 300 (2nd Hand)
6. Vespa GTS 300 (new)
7. Honda Integra 700 (2nd Hand)

For SYM.. its not the scoot or the design issue, but the MForce Malaysia manufacturing QC is questionable.. if you choose the TL then be prepared to do DIY for maintenance, not counting on MForce distributor.

I heard from friends that SYM TL500 has same engine as Yamaha. And same CVT build dont know how true it is but it seems reliable.

Its a copy of 1st generation TMAX 500, down to the chassis.

Some parts is interchangeable with Yamaha TMAX.

1. Air Filter, Yamaha TMAX 500
2. CVT Filters, Yamaha TMAX 530
3. CVT Belt, Yamaha TMAX DX 530
4. Weight Roller, Yamaha TMAX 530
5. CVT Contra Spring, Yamaha TMAX 530
6. Oil Filter, if want cheap use equivalent for Mazda car, 30RM.

Note: some CVT performance parts from Malossi/JCosta/Polini for TMAX can fit into the TL500

Bear in mind, even though its a scooter, maintenance is like a big bike. So be prepared to do normal oil change will cost you around 250rm++ per 5k km and that major service every 20k km will cost around 1300 to 1500 rm since you need to change belt and rollers.

rest assured, its same price to maintain other 2 cylinders maxi scoot with similar configuration like TMAX, BMW C650 series and Aprilla SRV 850

The NC750 DCT probably comes closest to a scoot .

Damn reliable engine. Have a friend that has 280,000km on it and the only engine part he needed to replace was the water pump.

That engine was a honda jazz engine cut into half..

Currently I'm riding 250 cc scooter, so if upgrade ADV 350 I think is the only option if want lighter bike. Bigger cc scooter is heavy not suitable for town daily use especially like Penang Island so I think 300-400 is a sweet spot.

Currently I quite happy with my scooter just the ADV350 look nice and have better suspension system so thinking to upgrade. I have another ideal as well, get a clutch bike as a weekend bike but not sure worth or not because maybe just ride once a week. CB650R looks damn good.
Mine done at Penang Island cermelang 550, just done the exam on last Dec.

I saw the Forza 350 and Adv 350 in Thailand, they grew in size even compared to the existing Forza 300 before, so it might add more weight a bit, but the dimension is definitely bigger. Do take that into the consideration if you want to commute to the Island.
