Can anyone tell me which private university in Malaysia are good for CS
My first choice was Taylor University but i read some reviews that said Taylor university is famous for hospitality.
Monash University is too expensive and I read reviews that MMU and APU quality has drop.

So I don't know which university I should go

Open house this coming weekend. Your course is part of the programs offered. Their fees are pretty reasonable and they do have many types of scholarships.

Are you on FAMA scholarship or student loan?

Perhaps you could consider UM Open Channel.

Taylor's is good at Hospitality but they have so much more other courses offered
and contrary to popular believe, business school has the highest admission.

Cyber Security? Not many in MY yet if looking for this subject. Even in Spore to qualify for this course is as hard as getting into medicine.

TS, drop a visit to their campus. Take a look at their facility especially for the laboratory & library. If the campus has well equipped laboratory ( computer or research) + library ( wide research references & journals), that is the one you should go.

Monash too expensive, but Taylors isn't? doh.gif

Don't know about their computer science programmes, but I can vouch for the facilities at Taylors. A sibling just finished law school there. Very nice campus, several large computer and Mac labs, got VR/AR lab recently opened too. Library is 4 storeys summore. So in terms of just the facilities, can't go wrong.

Did you actually look at the fees? It's in the same magnitude. In my opinion, few things to look at;
1. Entry requirements, if it is low, then you can gauge the level that you will expect (not hard and fast rule but to consider),
2. Number of intakes should not be more than 3. Reason is that your lecturers will then no have quality time with/for you,
3. Number of students per cohort/class should not be ridiculously large. This is subjective and probably up to 200 (I would prefer 120-150) is ok,
4. Staff list Vs Student numbers, maybe should not be more than 1:20 or 1:25,
5. Should have an academic staff list, else it is suspicious on high turnover which isn't good. Also, at least a few of the staff should have good research standing.

Also, are you looking more to learn something to get a job or to learn how computers work (as oppose to how to use the computer). Most CS programmes in Malaysia are diluted to quasi IT rather than CS.

Fire away :-)

Oh, on which Uni, also look at your own capabilities.

Xiamen added in a few courses in recent years to reflect the up and coming demands in these industries:-
E-commerce
Artificial intelligence
Data Science
Cyber Security
The last three courses are under IT.
