can we discuss about custom firmware in this thread?i just installed 3.80 M33-2 to my phat psp.so far so good, but can't play PSX game.mybe the popsloader for 3.80 kernel just in process, beside that, there's no good theme (not PTF themes) that suite 3.80 for now. so i try to copy the 3.71 themes by copy n paste to my flash0,and suddently i got a semibrick.... sad.gif lolz

then,pandora back to 3.71 M33-4,i think i will stay with 3.71 until 3.80 got popsloader and a good n nice themes... wink.gif

errr 3.8m33 themes is in PSP\Themes.
3.8m33 uses the ptf files. I'm using ptf files for 3.71 and it is working without a problem.

mine also fake ler. LOL.. i also got terrified cause it couldnt detect "it".. thn ninja saved me.. lol. reformated transfer worked!! both ori and non-ori. both also 4gb... maybe the clusters u relocated initially.. i locate mine at 64kb..
*
I copied the files from the memory stick to the PC (including the hidden system files), formatted my memory stick to FAT (64kb cluster), then copy back all the folders from my PC to my memory stick. All the media files (picture, songs, video) worked fine, but I still can't find my games and saved games data.

Tried formatting to FAT32 using my PC, then copy back all the files to my memory stick. Same thing happened, media files working fine while games are not.

Then finally formatted the memory stick using PSP, automatically become FAT32, everything are working fine now.

You have any idea why it wouldn't work when I formatted the memory stick using my PC? Is there any special way to format the memory stick to FAT and make the save games work? unsure.gif

QUOTE(Dark Kai @ Jan 15 2008, 04:55 PM)
What i did was format the MS with the PSP and not the PC.

It work fine when formatted using the PSP, but it will be automatically be formatted to FAT32. If I want to format to FAT, there's no other choice but to format using PC.

yup,3.80 m33 can support the PTF themes,that not i mean.... smile.gif

i mean the themes is a custom themes, that need a replacement of vsh/modules or vsh/resources in flash0 like applecor or inacor, something like that....you can review the custom themes (and PTF) in www.consolespot.net

u format using the Windows GUI or command prompt? Last time I formatted using command prompt, to FAT format, and it works with 3.80. FAT is many faster than FAT32, when you are on 4 GB mspd. I forgot the actual command though, but you can google it

Formatted using the Command Prompt and it doesn't work on the PSP. Using FAT32 now, and I don't feel like there's any difference in read / write speed compared to using FAT.

Why don't you use custom firmware? Because I am using 3.71 m33 themes on 3.80 m33-2. icon_rolleyes.gif

.ptf themes works on Official Firmware too. All you need is to copy the .ptf theme file into the /PSP/THEME/ folder on your Memory Stick.

Search for "PSP PTF Theme" on Google. smile.gif

first thing first is to copy the Update folder into PSP\Game\ folder ...
then do I need to rename files or what? or straight away can run the updates?

You need to download the Official Sony 3.80 firmware first. It's not included in the 3.80 M33 installer for legal reasons.

When you download it, by default the filename will be EBOOT.PBP, you need to rename it to 380.PBP then copy it into the 3.80 M33 "UPDATE" folder inside \PSP\GAME\

Release version is the first revision of 3.80 M33, the 3.80 M33-2 is a patch to fix some bugs found in the release version of 3.80 M33.

To make it simple:

Install 3.80 M33 first, then install the 3.80 M33-2 patch after that.

You need the official Sony 3.80 firmware to install 3.80 M33, while the 3.80 M33-2 patch doesn't need it.

Yup, all the files should be in the folder called "UPDATE" at \PSP\GAME\ smile.gif
