Most of the MSPD in the market nowadays are fake, I mean those Sony's that selling at RM100+/- for 4GB.
AFAIK, cost price of a 4GB 'Sony' High Speed MSPD is like RM120 only.
Actually I got a question, what's the difference between Ori and Fake MSPD?
I know there's a difference in data transfer speed, but does that affect the game play?
Or maybe will bring harm to our console?
Just wondering hmm.gif

If one can bare the slow poke loading time of a Phat PSP, what can't they wait for another extra 1 to 5 seconds, right? icon_idea.gif
I totally have no comment on the transfer rate, windows shows me how long I have to wait, then I just wait.
In the mean time you can do other stuffs right? Doesn't mean you have to monitor the process of copying stuffs into your MSPD.
IMO, Ori or Fake, just a matter of name only.
As long as it doesn't bring any harm to the console, then its okay already.
Just my 2 cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

1st of all, sorry for skipping your message.
I also got the same problem when I was trying to upgrade from 3.71 m33 to 3.90 m33, and this is what I did.

1. Off your PSP (Hold Power Button for 5 seconds)
2. Turn on PSP (Power Button)
3. Hold R immediately after Step 2
4. You are now in Recovery Mode, yay
5. Select "Configuration"
6. Select "Game folder homebrew" and keep pressing X until the kernel version is the same version number of what custom firmware you are currently running (in your case, should be 3.52 Kernel)
7. Select "Back"
8. Select "Exit"
9. Now give that Custom Firmware Update another try

the ori ones are very expensive and there's no certainty that u'll get ori unless u buy from sony. Personally i wouldn't mind getting the cheaper fake ones if it doesnt do any harm to my PSP

Ohhh the problem is official sandisk no longer selling them except the 512MB ones. They do sell other far more expensive ones but not ultra II series. Check it out.
Also, there are many fake scandisk sandisk pro duo nowadays. The problem is either:
Genuine sandisk sellers do not ship worldwide or
Those ship worldwide ones are selling the fake goods!!

nuff' said. For those who r wondering about the fakes, here's a link ---> Fake Cards.
I'm getting fed up with the fake gba catridges, that's why i demand for the ori one since both gba and memory stick use nearly identical flash memory!

Nope. My SanDisk M2 with adapter is 4GB. Bigger than 512MB. And it's original. I just got it last 2 weeks at Sri Computers for RM150 (so that means you can get original SanDisk locally). Can't recall what series is mine cause I have thrown the packaging.

The thing about fake ones are they tend to break (literally) and slower data transfer rate (but there's a way to fix that if you know what I mean).

How you transfer all your stuffs into mspd?
I mean like you directly plug the usb cable, or you use card reader?
IMO, card reader will transfer faster than direct plug usb cable.
Or I'm wrong?

fake card can die anytime unexpected... bear the risk loosing all the savegames and everything inside.. and slower speed.

how to differentiate? just put in your psp and see the magicgate is supported or unknown. if unknown = fake.

Actually, it depends on the card reader make/interface. Some are slower some are faster.
