i bought mine at PC FAIR (KLCC) at rm 27xx (best price- 2 batt, 2 stylus, car holder, 2gb micro sd, jabra bluetooth, screen protector). The seller was kind enuff to install map king on it for me... After doing the gps update, the mapking can lock your location less than 5 sec. The seller mentioned that the Asus PDA was selling like hot cakes (dunno how true.. tongue.gif). PDA Expert wasnt selling this model but the pda expert salesman promoted a HTC model (dunno waht model number) that was the same pricing as Asus PDA. I didnt get the HTC cause it was kinda thick if compared to Asus and the camera was 2.0 megapixel

I'm not a seasoned pda user, so cant give a very detailed review. But from my usage with the pda

PRO
- they keypad at the bottom makes sms easier on a pda. I have seen others with their stylus trying their best to sms. With the keypad the bottom, no prob
- camera is okay.. (3 mega pixels)
- apps runs fast! (520Mhz)
- loud and vibrate kinda strong
- light!
- batt last long (maybe still new?)
- got some Asus app
1. to TURBO your pda... tongue.gif (hey, it asus... what do you expect?)
2. Accept/Reject List (add those pesky salesman into ur reject list!)
3. Auto Cleaner (dunno if it is Asus or Window Mobile 6 app but it is VERY useful in closing app and clearing some precious memory... did i say
64 mb earlier? tongue.gif )
- The metal surrounding the sides of the phone is like gun-metal, so it doesn't get smudges by ur fingerprints
- The built quality is good, the back panel doesnt attract fingerprints

CONS
- RAM is 64mb... is okay with normal usage but most pda comes with 128mb...
- no built in radio (who cares!)
- speakers are the back of the device. So if you place it, front side up... the sound gets muffled
- no flashlight for camera

Maybe after a month's time, i'll try my best to give a better review.... but for now, I got no gripe with this phone... Luckily I didnt get Tytn II

ringtone is clear but i notice my phone hangs sometimes (maybe i put in too much of apps inside?).. so now what i did is hard reset the phone (restore to default settings, installed mapking only and see whether the phone still gives me prob...

another question to asus p750 owners out there, got any idea where to get a better casing (krusell, capdase.. ) for our phone?

for those having bluetooth prob, dont forget to update ur Asus p750!

http://support.asus.com/download/download....n-us&model=P750

u can also access this download page if you are an Asus VIP Member...

And under the bulk order, you can see that a LYN seller is selling the 8Gb Sandisk MicroSDHC (for those who want to upgrade their storage space to fight with apple ipod) .. sound interesting.. any Asus p750 owners willing to upgrade to such capacity?

you can try this, this what happens with my connection to jabra the first time.

after pairing the device, try to turn off and on the bluetooth on the Asus p750. if still can't, try to off and on your asus and see if there is a headset icon.

Or on the paired device screen under bluetooth settings, you can tap and hold on ur paired device and set as "hands free"

hi folks, reporting on the new hotfix on the Asus P750. It claim support to solve power consumption (someone was complaining).
1. You follow the instructions on the webpage and you cant go wrong.
2. After that, your phone will reset and it will show the menu again... so i assumed that it is done???

cant see whether the update successfull since cant see in the add/remove prog. can anyone verify that the system information is same as mine???

rom date: 2007/11/8
rom version: v4.5.1 WWE_MS00
batt version : 1.3
extended rom version : v2.0.0 MS00

another forum reported that using this hotfix will resurface the bluetooth prob. Not for me, I never had a prob with the bluetooth the first place (using Jabra) and after the two hotfix on Asus website, I still can use my Jabra...

1. I seemed to have lost my zoom function in camera mode.

Any idea how to activate the zoom button?

2. When the phone rings, how do I make it silent?
*
1. zoom feature can only be used if your pic resolution is set to 1024x768. Anything bigger than that, you CANT zoom in and out

2. cant help you on that....

oh yeah, u know that you can set your asus to not make a sound when taking picture using the camera? i meant that you can turn off the shutter sound tongue.gif

i tot there is a profile for silent mode?
*
there is a profile for slient mode, but what i understood from his question is that when the phone rings, can we make it silent so that the caller is still waiting but we wont be hearing our ringtone all the way, When there is a call on the asus, there is only answer or ignore. Ignore will reject the call.

But asus comes with the call filter, which you can use to somewhat solves the porb... tongue.gif

I was considering getting htc 3600i, then i saw this post about the asus p750. the specs seems the same (except for the 3mp camera on p750), and so is the price.

would like having a keypad, so i'm now slightly tilting towards the asus instead.

but is there anything about the htc that's superior to the asus model?

check this thread (post number 2) about the diff

In fact i was like you, wanted to get htc 3600i or asus p750, but after some though a pda by right shouldnt have a keypad, becos it look like a Nokia handphone, moreover if you will to put the 3600i side by side with the asus 750 i think you wont regret buying the 3600. imo
*
true, i understand your concern... i was also skeptical as you... PDA that looks like nokia handphone.. but believe me, it has its advantages compared to some pda that requires users to use the small built in keyboard. If you sms a lot, then having a handphone keypad does definitely helps... especially when driving! (not that i recommend it.. but u get my drift)

plus, with some reviewers mentioned that Intel 300mhz can ownz samsung 400mhz, asus is a steal!

I am using Core player 1.1.1.. wink.gif less hassel than windows media player.. that media player can't play mp4. And the way it searches for music sucks bigtime.. It has my ringtones and Mapking voice prompt auto selected... when listening to a song next song comes in ..."please turn left".. lol.. just plain stupid.. the way the windows library is structured, everytime I reincert the memory card, the library auto refreshed and I have to re-delete the mapking voice prompt from library if I don't want to hear it..

Core player just dump all my MP3& MP4 in separate folder.. that's all
*
i use pocketmusic... it works great with mp3 files. Under options, you can load specific folder (say u put ur mp3 into one folder) so other wav or mp3 wotn interrupt ur listening pleasure.. plus, it has winamp skin too! try it!
