erm...if SiRF Starr III, i dont think there's any different with P750...

whatever chipset used does not matter, more important is the pda proccessor speed

ya..its true..it just tat both Phone uses same proccessor,Marvell 520 MHz PXA27x CPU i think...
so...for me...no different kot in term of GPS Speed..

But i try gps on my friend's Nokia 5800...it sux..useless...
I thought Chipset type is the point for lock on time

hhaha....Nokia Map itself sux big time.... hv to pay summore...

when i install for my friend's 5800 with Garmin, and tried to lock on, the result was pretty fast loh, i think you friend's phone got problem or install wrongly.

Every first time u lock on sure taking more longer time..after tat will preety fast if not over than few hour and no changing other place..didn't u?

cold lock around 1 to 2 minutes, that day i try was cloudy so longer time, if sunny day i think less than 1 minute, for these kind of figure it's quite fast edi. The fastest cold lock will be Eten X650, almost immediate. The worst i have tried is Asus P320, can't even lock on when on the plane.

Hahha..i using Asus p535..it quite fast for me..so for u..5800 is quite good in GPS?? Cause i might grab it soon

i'm no more using 5800, use to loh, 5800 is as fast as my previous N82, but i think bad, 3.2M carl zier or something like that feels like 2.0M, camera sucks....one think about nokia now is, not easy to add new games and application, most software are unsigned.

Asus P750 is cool.. I've been using it for 1 and half years dy...
previously, I found that it hangs alot... and I need to hard-reset alot.. even after I upgraded to the new firmware..

but I found something that helps to reduces the hang issue.
- Set your CPU MODE to a fix mode instead of Automatic Mode. Which would be either Turbo Mode, Standard Mode or Power Saving Mode. I fixed it at Standard mode.

if you buy full package, there will be a cd inside contains CeStar, a software for chinese character input.

1 Day. often 2 days if u not really heavy user. Package included car charger and phone car mount.. no prob if battery run low

You can ask Asus Center, or shop selling PDA or if you want to DIY you can go to ebay to get it...

Hello, fellow forumers. I've encountered some prob.s w/ my P750. Hope anyone has a soln. to them.

1) The sound sys. went dead! No sound from the main & ear speakers. When there's a call, the person on the other end of the line hears absolutely nothing from my end, which implies that my mic.'s dead. Also, I hear absolutely nothing from the other end as well.

I thought it's a case of h/w failure til' I tried turning the speakerphone on. Normally, we tap the "Speaker On" button on the screen & it'll turn into a "Speaker Off" button. But the button doesn't change to the "Speaker Off" button, hence speakerphone couldn't be turned on! This suggests that it could be a s/w prob. instead.

BTW, soft/hard-resetting didn't solve the prob.

2) Plugging in the 2.5mm audio jack automatically activates voice cmd. Help!

3) Exactly how do we use the "Auto Cleaner"? Specifically, the "forced" close func.

4) Is there a way to map the "OK" button to force-close prog.s instead of minimizing them?

5) The "Flash light for: No limit" in the "Sounds & Notifications" settings doesn't work. The red notification light stops blinking after about 15min. Crucial when there're missed calls / new text msg.s.

BTW, the P750 originally ran on WM6.0 & a free upgrade (WM6.0 to WM 6.1) was already released. Official upgrade to WM6.5 only applies to devices originally running on WM 6.1.


1) I use Garmin MobileXT. For my device, the response time's generally good. Cold booting in good weather, I get satellite lock in less than 5min., whereas hot booting's significantly faster. Basically, the amount of time for satellite locks is dependent on whether U're on me move / not, the weather, location of device (in/outdoor), etc. Nothing new that weren't discussed before.


Besides official ASUS centres, try Phone Star Communication Sdn. Bhd., the official M'sian distributor of the P750. I got my P525 fixed there last time.
