Hi there,
Would like to seek advice from Travelers using Maxis Postpaid - 30 days World Unlimited Data pass for RM 99.
I am aiming for this, since I'm going to Singapore transit to UK, then several EU (Netherland, Denmark, Sweden, France) countries, lastly ending up in Singapore on the last day before transit back to KLIA.
Otherwise I would need to get 2 SIM Cards when I'm in the UK+EU and SG...
My only concern any surprises or bill shocks coming back from the trip in the Maxis Bill.
KLIA-SG FLIGHT 4/25/2023
LONDON FLIGHT 4/25/2023
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLAND TRAIN 4/28/2023
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK FLIGHT 5/1/2023
MALMO, SWEDEN TRAIN 5/2/2023
PARIS, FRANCE FLIGHT 5/5/2023
SG - KLIA 5/9/2023
Why do you need SIM card for the few hours you are in Singapore for transit? Changi does have great Wi-Fi.
I do believe that the 99 worldwide can be a bit dangerous, but just required good planning and thinking ahead.
I’ve been using my umobile 68 with free roaming since coming to the UK in September. For the most part it has been great and has given perfect service. One of the issues, and it was the same that happened to the cruise guy, is that not all countries are covered.
When I was travelling in north Sweden, my phone automatically connected to a Norwegian network. Because data roaming was already turned on for Sweden, it used the data at rm75 per mb until I reached credit limit. I did not know Norway was not included, but I wasn’t even in Norway so I didn’t check lmaoo
I use my Malaysian sim in Europe because my UK sim need to pay £2 a day for roaming (postpaid).
I suggest you see some air sim options. I recently used it in India when my umobile roaming refused to work on 4G / 3G and was stuck on 2G.
It’s called Airalo and it has EU wide roaming on one sim
Another option is to get to the UK and buy a sim, but very few have EU roaming for free now.
O2 does have, giffgaff has 5GB limit, Vodafone and voxi doesn’t have. EE (my network) is just too expensive for prepaid and 3’s network is not so great in the UK.
Smarty uses the 3 network and they are the cheapest, and you can use up to 12gb of your balance in the EU.
Or if you want to have the sim before coming, you can buy a 3 SIM card here
