Hey guys, i was wondering about getting Maxis wireless broadband for my gf. She's at Shah Alam and the main reason is so that we can MSN/skype. I know you all say MSN has a lot of probs and some solutions on the front page, but my gf is not the techy type, so wondering if any of you have probs with skype?

Also, what are the average speeds around Shah Alam? I guess as long as it's not dial-up and can msn/skype/surf it should be ok. She doesn't do much p2p either.

Really considering this so that we don't have to go through the hassle of getting a phone like for streamyx, thanks!

I'm at JB, maxis unacccesible intermitently...fedup adi,  i wanna transfer my line and stick to streamyx..

Maxis will be coming out with a new wireless modem which supports wifi in a few weeks time to refresh their sales once again.

I jus moved house back then and maxis was the cheapest solution ma, RM100 can online adi, streamyx was a lot of hassle. But now i seriously regreted. Will be looking for ppl to transfer my Maxis BB line.

my yahoo mail cant access too, gmail can... many outbound sites cannot..

Damn , my bandwidth was under penalty by over the 3GB data usage by downgrade my power package to starter package as below :

Technically, best UTMS speed is at 748kbps and EDGE is at 368kbps. But i personally do believe that EDGE is more stable than UTMS..... of course ideally HSDPA tops it all. I think in your case is pretty much the same if UTMS is the best signal you can get. did you try to set 3G only to see if it helps?

my connection seem got problem starting 12.00am. it start happend in  last two days ago. anyone counter this problem? i'm staying at serdang.

maxis speed sucksssssss dis few day.i m in ukm,bangi. dis few day d speed reali suck.surf net slow like snail crawling. b4 tat when i dl from badongo using idm d speed can shoot up 2 50-60 k.bt nw nt even 20k.xunlei oso.dulu d speed pretty gd here,when light traffic can go up 50-60k.bt nw kura2 man.WTF.anyone in bangi or other place encounter dis situation too?i wandering is d maxis upgrading their service nw bt nw is nt their date which they mentioned at the website leh.BTW,wat is d number i can cal them 2 complain leh?n 1 more thing,wat is the address tat can check our account which we had dl hw much de?Thnx .....

Now i can surf the web smoothly from 5 am to 11 am only.Other time very very suck.Especially when 12 am to 2 am,where i expect light traffic.But the connection lost at all.I wander why i cannnot surf when i connected to HSDPA. After the upgrading, I become more easily kick by them from HSDPA to UMTS.Haiz...Just now test the speed at 9 am using their speedtest, only manage get 150 kbps.WTF..

Although I'm just Basic package cannot expect much in speed but...at least keep the connection more stable lol. I always keep disconnecting.
