i had juz change to I2GO data unlimited RM99 package.
currently using my 838pro as modem first, still consider to buy sierra 875u or huawei e220. so far my comment is I2GO at my place is not really stable, the ping result is almost same with maxis broadband.download speed is not stable, sometime can get fast, sometime slow. i thk maybe because of using phone as modem, but average still better than maxis broadband. i apply a new sup line for this I2GO, coz maxis told me if i wan to add another based on my principle line, they will charge me RM15/month. download speed is ok, upload speed suck~ ![]() ![]() Added on January 10, 2008, 10:50 pmJWCheah: hv u order the attenna? maybe i will need to order also. Dont forget about 3GB limited for download and upload usage..
And please be careful about the speed. Dont try speed reading from maxis bb website. It will cheat all of you... More important that you must know, if u want to download 1 song about 5 MB. It will take about 1 to 1 and 1/2 hour to complete the download.. Maxis will make you crazy with their speed. |

QUOTE(prasys @ Jan 9 2008, 01:20 PM) Dont surf Google. Instead surf this site thanks... i included that in my script too... seems like my dumb workaround sort of work 75% percent of the time except for this morning when it just could not connect back for no reasons... even in the modem firmware page states disconnected and the service is EDGE... it was back up after several tries of switching it on and off...http://58.71.141.14/maxis-storefront/connect.do Its the connection script. So it sends keepalive connection to the cell tower and it always works. Trust me ! but doesn't the modem redirects the first visit to any sites to the www.maxis.com.my/maxisbb after every disconnection? but the site is of another different IP add compared to yours... anyways... it did the work for me and i think i am quite satisfied with it for now... QUOTE(boonboon @ Jan 11 2008, 04:12 AM) i think the results are not 100% accurate all the time...i got a 240+kbps upload this morning when i tested after my connection problem.. then the 2nd try went back to the usual 50+kbps... |

Thats the Maxis connection script. It establish a connection and automatically redirects you to their maxis bb site. QUOTE(Gaza @ Dec 29 2007, 01:32 PM) Hey guys, i was wondering about getting Maxis wireless broadband for my gf. She's at Shah Alam and the main reason is so that we can MSN/skype. I know you all say MSN has a lot of probs and some solutions on the front page, but my gf is not the techy type, so wondering if any of you have probs with skype? i also stay at shah alam are, around bukit jelutong..considering far from main cityAlso, what are the average speeds around Shah Alam? I guess as long as it's not dial-up and can msn/skype/surf it should be ok. She doesn't do much p2p either. Really considering this so that we don't have to go through the hassle of getting a phone like for streamyx, thanks! using 384 package and my speed just nice to ym and skype it should be best effort 4 ut gf if she same package as me.. pm me 4 more info bout dis maxis bb in shah alam |
