A little info about me: 26 yo, graduated with a degree in business administration (got cert on march 2021), went through couple jobs relevant to my degree and dont see myself want to be in this field for the rest of my life, starting an internship as programmer trainee next month

Hello sifu2, as what I wrote above, I am offered to join an internship for 3 months where i'll get to learn how to code from scratch (I know some programming languages albeit really basic ones from freecodecamp and some other free coding camp). My monthly allowance will be 500 a month. Plan to brush up my github profile during the training period so i can still have chance for other IT roles should i am not offered a full time role at the end of the internship. Am not employed atm (long story, kinda embarrassed to tell)

I have been interested in the IT field (both hardware and software) since kids years but kind of indecisive after finishing high school (long story) so kind of in a messed up position atm so i figured that i want to at least try other things out when i still.... have time (try it out now is better than try it out later right)

the working hours is wfh+flexible so i might be able to find a weekend job to increase my income

am from Samarahan, Sarawak btw so the opportunities is kinda on the lesser side since i'm competing with the cs degree holders too

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So far i have two offers:

offer A: Startup company, 500 a month allowance, wfh+flexible working hours, no company website, (i searched for the apps they have dev'ed...so far the reviews are kinda bad so...idk), got specify which programming language to use mainly

offer B: Sme company, 800 a month allowance, fixed working hours (9-6 m-f), got company website, no specify main used programming languages as the hr said depends on allocated tasks

.....want to ask yall for your opinions on this, even better if there's anyone with the same experience as me. Thanks!

Honestly, a startup that is totally WFH + no company website + bad reviews on their apps. Why you even want to go into such a company?

They probably saw your working experience and just RM500, get some cheap labor to plug the holes and handle clients doh.gif
Go to the SME company, at least its a corporate setup and with some SOP already in place. you can't go wrong with this as your first step.

I decided to go with the first option...although i said its startup but i dont really think its a 'startup' since the company is around for 10 years. Pay wise its not that much different as i can save fuel and time when i can wfh. so far i can pretty much understand what im doing during html and css practice on freecodecamp (not much i know). When i got stuck i'll seek guidance from either the internet or discord channels. Just that i dont understand why i couldnt find the company's name on ssm although there is a ssm serial number on the offer letter (hopefully its not a red flag)...yeah
