oh follow the photographer's idea la. let a tree or some objects obstruct the sun but not the halo. then u capture the pic

As long as you can manually control the exposure (most likely with the help of aperture priority mode and the lowest ISO setting and maybe a ND filter), you should be able to get it.
The halo effect is due to ice crystals in the sky, when a very humid sky after a heavy rain suddenly gets cold and the vapours form into droplets which in turn gets frozen. The micro ice crystals then diffract light like how a rainbow is formed but either because they span a very wide area or that they are very high up (can't remember exactly the real reason), they appear as a halo to observers and not a rainbow. |
