I have trouble with my City IDSI 2004 Cobra alarm system. Already reset the alarm many times, problem still persists. May I know is it possible to disable the alarm completely , meaning that I want to use the manual key to lock & unlock the only? Or replace the whole cobra system with 3rd party alarm system? Hoe much does it cost ? Anyone has experience here ?

Off course possible to remove, install new alarm but before going into that step, what is wrong with your alarm? Does it trigger because of the ultrasonic sensor or door switch?
If ultrasonic sensor, you can either unplug it or change only the sensor, but if door switch, better to rectify if because it is cheap and it will still trigger unnecessarily even changing to new set of alarm.

there's no response on the alarm system when I click lock/unlock button everytime. I was forced to unloick the car uisng key manually. When I pressed on the lock/ unlock button, LED on the remote did blink, but there's no response. I need to reset the alarm everytime, then can only lock/unlock the car using car remote, highly suspect the alarm system is giving me proble, not the car remote itslef. What do you think ? confused.gif

If they remove the alamr, can I start the car using the key ? i am not able to start the car everytime I lock the car using the key manually.

Everytime I lock and unlock the car manually, I need to press the unlock/lock button on my remote before I can start my car. doh.gif doh.gif

due to immobilizer, may opt for basic alarm which does not have immobilizer

immobilizer is part of the security/alarm system, once removed it will not function anymore and/or replaced with a different system or opt for a basic on which has no immobilizer.

depending on alarm model, lock the doors via physical key instead of alarm fob, then it may bypass utilizing immobilizer.

After removing it physically, need to do special programming to disable the immo? Or once the alsrm system is removed, the immo no longer work and I can start the vehicle using the physical key only ?

Yeah I know Cobra alarm used to be very popular with earlier Hondas and some Toyotas,
Why not you try call them instead and bring your car over there to have it rectified.
