Hi all sifus here, I purposely created an account on lowyat to get some proper advices from all.
My Eplay TV box has been down for almost one week. Bought it almost a year ago and reason as elderly at home is used to watching tv.. Previously paying every month rm160+ for Astro hence decided to change to tv box.
I tried reaching the CS of Eplay but their WhatsApp seem not working for ages.
Can anyone advise me what to do here? My parent almost going nuts summore CNY soon sure want to watch tv at home.
I’m so helpless now. Really need your help!!

Since your tvbox is relatively new, it should be running newer version of Android and should be able to access Google Play store to install legit streaming app from HK and China.
You can install TVBAnywhere, which shows content from HK. You can start off register as a free member, the app should allow you to watch some free content, and some episodes of some drama series. You can unlock all the content by paying RM20 per month for video on demand access. You probably don't need the live TV shows which are mostly focus on news. You can cancel it anytime later if you don't want it anymore.
You can also install iQiYi and/or MangoTV ie MGTV. Both are legit streaming platforms from China. iQiYi provides a combination of films, TV series and variety shows. Personally I think the more well known variety shows are on MGTV though instead of iQiYi. So it depends on what you prefer. You can use them as free member as well, both streaming app allow you to watch some free content, as well as a small portion of other shows such as 15 minutes and you need to subscribe to unlock the rest. So you can preview and decide it for yourselves. Cost is most likely RM10 per month. Mine comes with Unifi as freebie. And if you are using Unifi package, you may already have some of the streaming platform as freebie. But it depends on the unifi package.
As for illegal streaming sites, those come and go and if they go usually you won't have warranty.
