Apple reduced the amount of tweeters and microphones in this version though.

Still not available officially in Malaysia despite the fact that you would require a HomePod or Apple TV as a Apple Home hub. doh.gif

Scalpers are selling gen 1 at almost two times the original price, good that second gen is out.

Yes, I saw it sold at a shop at 1U for around RM2k which is insane. Rather purchase it overseas and get it shipped here.

Yeah, the overall weight of the HomePod is lighter as well. Now to wait for the sound test reviews to see if it is worth getting one.

I just came back from Apple Orchard and had a good preview on the HomePod 2nd Gen and it does sound very similar to the 1st Gen.

I was so close to bringing one home.. so close. Unfortunately right now my desk doesn't allow another space for the HomePod.

The sound can be very different depending on the room it's in, perhaps due to the automatic calibration.

I have two of the minis and one of the full size HomePod. If you run the minis as stereo pair the sound improves tremendously .... still not as kickin as the full size but definitely worth getting two minis.

So happy to see HomePod here. I had a 1st gen HomePod bought in 2019 from Shopee for RM1080 but it died after 2yrs. Been making do with minis but planning to get another one soon.
