No it’s not a ficus. I believe this is a Japanese Maple. It’s a go to for these zen courtyard setups. But be realistic about what works in temperate climate might not work in ours. So go to a nursery and explore things that work in tropical weather.

I’d suggest you go for typical tropical trees that don’t shed leaves. This Japanese Maple is damn messy because it does shed.
