From. Google

If you want to install an EV-charger at home and have a single-phase connection, the charger can deliver a maximum power of 3.7 kW or 7.4 kW, depending on the RCD (16 or 32 Ampere).

Three-phase connection

With a three-phase connection, as the name implies, your home’s electrical circuit is connected with three phase wires from the grid (3x230V/400V). In this case, the charge point is able to deliver 11 kW of 22 kW

Oh then 7.4kW is enough, not many EV can accept AC 11kW charge let alone 22kW.

ORA good cat and BYD Atto 3 maxes out at 7kW AC charge

Assuming 7KW that translates to almost 30 Amps.

Thats more than 3/4 of the total TNB single phase amps of 50Amps

That leaves only 20 Amps reserve remaining . Interesting. hmm.gif
Really need an electrician to hook up a real dedicated thick cable to the fusebox thumbsup.gif

which EV are you getting? some of them give free wallboxes so you may not have to buy one yourself
if you have to buy one then take a look at those better brands like ABB or Hager. Cheaper ones from China - Starcharge
just google - https://www.google.com/search?client=safari...=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
to find installers and EVSE sellers.

I helped you ask my BIl who has the hybrid volvo and he says he's using straight from the standard malaysian wall socket. No need those dedicated wall chargers unless u want fast charge but my BIl was told those fast chargers shortens ur battery life span

Standard malaysian wall socket would take a day to charge your EV

Dedicated wall charger or we usually call it 'wallbox' is ac charger is not consider fast charge that could charge up to 22kw, fast charge are those huge DC charge that you see in some dealer or petrol station which could go easily up to 100+kw or more.

all charger can shorten life span if you plug in charge it without unplug when its full and you leave it there for longtime just like our handphone, that is why dc charger tend to charge very quickly from 10%-80% then slow down afterwards, anyway you always can set charging limit in your car to 80% cos that is the optimal level to prolong your battery lifespan unless you know you want go long distance that day then you charge 100%.

Hi there, would like to ask if anyone had experience using Teison or Huawei wallbox chargers?

I have solar panels at home and using Huawei inverter, wondering if it will be better to go with Huawei for the ecosystem?

Appreciate it if anyone could share their experience.

Why are some wall charger suppliers so secretive about their prices? Instead of publishing their prices they want you to chat with them to reveal their price. So weird, as if they want to tailor their price to the customer instead of having standard price for everybody. I'm not talking about installation, even without installation you still need to chat with them.
