Dear all sifus,
I never works in Sg before and currently plans to work over there because of the exchange rate and some personal's issues. Before working over there, what is the
CONCERN to
LOOK AFTERas they are more fast pace than our country and we will be "looked down" by them as our English proficiency not good as theirs and they tend to be a class higher than us.
Have not getting any job offer yet, but most probably will stick back to current sector.
Need sifus' opinions/discussion/suggestion before getting ready to work over Sg.
Best Regards
Hello TS. Few other questions are more key, are you married, with kids, or have a long term relationship? How much are you being paid now, and how much would an equivalent job in SG pay?
I recommend to do detail research on your monthly cost in Johor and monthly cost in SG. Nowadays “rental is mental” and going up a lot. Heard even sharing HDB room would cost up to $1k, whether this is a lot depends on ur current situation and job prospect. So a few people can actually be financially worse off moving to SG.
Another question is your industry. Is there more prospect in SG? Or more in Malaysia? If not many opportunities in SG that will limit your upward potential too.
I wouldn’t be concerned about English level. Yes, ppl may look down on language level, and it could be a bigger topic in MNCs, but usually if you’re a great employee, language fluency may not be that important. So long as you get stuff done, and you get them done well
All the best
