Always a good idea to use email aliases. Many paid email providers have that feature, as well as some free ones (with limitations). Forwarding services like SimpleLogin or AnonAddy are also an option. Apple users can also rely on their HideMyEmail feature.

With an alias, let’s say I sign up to a this forum. I create and alias called lowyat@myemail.com. In future, any spam or marketing email I get from third parties that is sent to that alias, I will know lowyat was responsible for sharing my info or they had a data breach. So I can just delete that alias.
