can be quite expensive if you get them everything they want.
the trick is to try to reduce as much unnecessary spending as possible but still keep them happy.
one thing to note - they will take your time. its not just nut and go. you need to spend actual time with them and enjoy their company so if you dont have time, dont bother.

in my experience, they are happiest when they have a friend so its a good idea to get 2 together if you can afford it.
