hi all,
i'm planning to switch from smart tag to rfid for my travelling. i also purchase tng nfc card as a backup since my old tng is about to expired soon.
i'm not really familiar with this thing except for the basic thing so, i've some question :

1) if i enter the hway using rfid and during exit, failed to detect my rfid and forced to used tng card, what will happen? i'm aware that the notification that can't mix the usage for entry-exit. but if force (undetected during exit), what will happen?

2) do i need to link my tng card to my ewallet? if i link it to my ewallet, if somehow during exit the toll my rfid cant be detected, does scanning my tng card will deduct the amount from my ewallet as same with amount if i use rfid?

3) is that ok just reload the tng card offline (eg: at petrol station) and not link it to ewallet?

kindly advise accordingly, thank you in advance...

1. Will be charged max amount. Can contact tng cs and they will refund later.

2. You can use the card like normal tng card without link. But after link can use additional features like reload via nfc, view transactions, and PayDirect (amount deduct from ewallet). If enter use rfid exit use card, it will charge max amount regardless the card is link or not.

3. Yes.

basically u never can mix card and rfid, their system dunno each other so always charge max amount

linking to ewallet mostly because u wanted the reload with nfc feature throught the app since only if u linked the card u can reload via nfc.

Another one to link the card is paydirect lo with paydirect paying from ewallet for fixed rate tolls then less frequent need to reload the card. Take note that rfid and paydirect got outage issue before.https://soyacincau.com/2022/06/17/touch-n-g...ently-down-xrs/

do not comfuse lining ur card in ewallet with registering at tngportal since registering at the portal in the other hand can give u all the card transaction records and online refund. So I recommend doing that.

third, u can reload offline at shell just pay extra 50sen. I would recommend u reload using nfc kut more convenience and cheaper since u bought the new card ald bt hey the choice is your.

Whether is rfid or smart tag cum tng, you should not exit the toll if there is a problem. The CS at the toll booth will assist you.

Smart tag lane also easy to jam up and always require assistance of toll operator.

Yes, 3.0 is the NFC card, no issue.

Each lane has a cctv. Any lane that is holding up traffic, the staff will come to assist.

at this point, i'm too shy to ask.

the new TNG, can be uploaded with ewallet directly, right?
then why need NFC?

To TS,

it likes this.
when you enter toll using card or RFID, entry point was recorded to that card or RFID.
if you exit using different method, no entry point was detected and it will charge based on farthest entry point.

i believe it designed with the purpose so that the system wont be exploited.

with this mistake, at penang 2nd bridge, i was charged >RM70 for RM1.75 toll.

the refund was painfully slow with numerous follow up and calling, took more than 1 month.

Erm, you need the NFC to transfer the wallet balance into your card like normal card reloading did.

You can’t just magically transfering the balance into some offline card through internet.

Many times the RFID lane will crash or hang where the barrier remain up. After several mins, the usage will be recorded.

Keep both. TnG also useful for parking.

For me, NSE or NKVE, use TnG.

Those fixed toll rate like kesas, ldp, kerinchi, dash use rfid.

You will not have problem with RFID as long a you do this:
1. NEVER TAILGATE THE CAR IN FRONT. Leave a distance of 2-3 cars and wait outside the scanning zone until the car in front barrier opened and car moved. Then only you go in.

2. Drive SLOW.

100% success rate.

And avoid the one that always fail. For example, one of my cars won't pass through Alam Impian RFID rclxub.gif . Other RFID all good.
