Ayam been having some shoulder pain for some time now. Not too painful that I need to go doctor, just uncomfortable. Amoi at my workplace suggest ayam go do acupuncture. Anyone got experience before? Legit or just Chinese version of bomoh?

actually Gov Hospital Putrajaya, got Chinese Transitional Medicine dept do acupuncture,.. sent my mum there b4,.. around rm20 per session,..

need referal la boss, good luck getting a referal from most medical doctor.
but if we are talking psychiatrist and psychologist, yes they can refer them if you want to try those therapy. medication and cbt are not the only treatment out there.

The ones in tung shin is legit. Mum had back pain few years back, went to specialist they said need surgery. Went for Acupunture at Tung Shin after 3 months her back is as good as new. Carry grandchildren also no back pain now.

I went to one to fix my lower back pain, couple of sessions fixes it...

Acupuncture probably can give you temporary symptomatic relief. Go get help from orthopedic lah. If don’t want, then get a proper chiro lah

Just today i went to see doctor due to sore throat.

I am clearly know what is happening of my sickness with the wish of visit doctor to get medicine since i got company medical card

I told him it is due to my nose allergic and it causes me sinus and it causes my throat to be sore. Yeah it is correct even the doctor said so.

Then he asked, do you need antibiotic?

Replied "how should i know, u are the doctor not me" (well obviously antibiotic is needed but he still ask me this basic question)

Then he did not offered anything to relieve my throat until i asked him for lozenges.

So i believe there are alot doctors outside got permit also noob

Acupuncture is as old as Shang dynasty, ya it works when I strain my neck. But have to go few times to fully recover.

Two people mentioned tung shin but review quite low at 3.3. Maybe too many people there. Need to find other tcm center

Their acupuncturists skills are good but it’s a really crowded hospital. Waiting time is almost like govt hospital as price is also cheaper than most TCM clinics, if go on weekends confirm have to go early and you probably get your turn by around noon. Can’t expect to get serviced fast like other TCM clinics but it’s worth the wait.

no one knows if 经络/穴位 (acupuncture point) exist. thats what i mean its not scientifically proven, moreover similar to traditional medicine, it helps and not depending on many unknown or unexplainable reason. i tend to agree with my cousin who is a tcm practitioner, he said we cant simply claim something is scam or fake because it cant be proven, sometimes experience may equally capable to justify in some cases.

How much is it? Actually most tcm clinic how much is the cost? I'm expecting around rm100 per session?

It really depends on your condition, the acupuncture itself usually is within RM50 (at tung shin) but there will be extra cost for the medicine and that one really varies depending on what type of herbs are prescribed and whether you choose to take raw herbs or the pre-prepared ones.

In total I’d say expect to be charged more than a GP visit coz usually they will prescribe at least 1-2 weeks worth of medication. Bear in mind TCM is more focused on continuous maintenance of the body rather than a quick fix. So the medication period recommended can be longer. Even if you already feel ok and good the doctor may still prescribe some herbs for you to continue to take for another few weeks/months which I recommend to just follow. Like my mum case also actually after the first month her back ok already, but doc still ask to go follow up until 3 months and continued to prescribe herbs. Even now every 6 months she still go for acupuncture sessions as recommended.

Your total cost with the medicine etc might be 100++ to 200++ depending on the type of medicine prescribed tho fyi.

It's like others said, you see in hospital tcm and physio branch. But you never see chiro branch in any hospital. Then the fact that they make you sign waiver before your chiro session itself is suspicious

highly dependent on the TCM doctor doing the acupuncture.
