Yes price for a new screen seems kinda reasonable. And the tough screen can save some wear and tear on my fists when it comes to smashing walnuts.

Indeed it's good they listed price for part to make it transparent. If compare to sam & fruit probably part cheaper.

But to mi, seem like the price of part is more or less. I do agree the price quite expensive for a low range soc. Why not top up a bit to get honor 70 if someone are looking for honor brand phone.

The screen indeed was tough but where got people use the phone to smash nut like how they advertise it. Tougher screen is a plus point but with such a price, I feel consumer will go for device with better performance instead.

Hmm, no comment on your opinion. I personally don't justify a value of certain phone just because of the screen alone. Curve screen also not something I prefer.

Anyway it is just me, anyone who find this is something they want then feel free to buy it.

No info is available at the moment. The phone model a bit weird, seem like it is only launched in Malaysia. No info everywhere, x40 model in china look very similar (same look and size) but with slightly different spec.

Apparently they only launched this model here but not everywhere else. Feel like an experimental effort and a way to clear off certain old hardware stock to me but I might be wrong.

Anyway it's a lower border line mid range soc so don't expect too much on performance. All the paid promotional video is on cracking nut and didn't even mention on camera part so don't expect much on this also.

Think twice before buying, if this model only launched in Malaysia then don't expect much on software support like update and solving system bug. I guess they won't put so many manpower on updating the device if Malaysia (small user base) is the only market with this model.

With this price better go for other midrange with bigger user base and support.

This phone now is around 1.1k way cheaper than x9a. During sales maybe can go below 1k but only come with 128gb.

If want 256 I think better top up a bit and opt for honor 70 (around 1.6 new set during last week lazada sales) or nothing phone 8gb, 256 (around 1.8).

Those value are better as they come with better soc n camera. The x9a at 1499 really not attractive unless if someone really need a phone that can be used to crack a nut.

Ya that redmi have cheaper build and price than Poco x3 gt. Honor wise I notice they didn't specify what version their storage using even for magic 4 pro.

I don't think it will be anything lower than ufs 3. So far as what I remember I yet to see any phone with 256 capacity come with ufs 2.2. Anyhow I think with price of 1.5k better go for honor 70 or nothing phone.

It's tough screen but is it worth to pay a premium just to get the screen. Probably is a good choice for those working in harsh environment or labour work or even elderly who only use phone for calling and tend to drop the phone often.

For those who emphasis on price for performance & software support then this is definitely not a good choice.

Livechat at hihonor site and a visit to a b&m Honor retailer: warranty only valid in Malaysia, no international warranty available for purchase.

The intended recipient for this phone broke a samsung A52 in 2020, broke a realme in 2021 and is currently using a redmi note 11 which is still yet to be broken AFAIK. This is why the durable screen of the X9a makes it seem to be an ideal gift. But I do think RM1499 is a bit on the high side...the durable screen's nut-smashing premium can be blamed for that.

Anyways the Philippine variant of the X9a will be launched in 10 day's time. I wonder how much the Malaysian price for it will drop over the next 2 months.

I guess most probably will drop to below 1.2k. The base also won't be very high even launched in Philippines so software support like what I mention should be poor.

It might be a good option for your intended recipient since so many phone broken b4. If not rushing just wait, soon it will be dropping especially if the sales is not good. I don't think it will be selling well at the current pricing.

Lol I was thinking the same thing... maybe can drop till RM1199 (which is a much more acceptable price) because I feel it won't be too popular. Will wait and see how things go.

The Realme 10 Pro Plus seems to have a similarly curved tough screen 0.65mm as the Honor X9a. Unfortunately it kinda seems a bit of a ripoff because other countries get the Dimensity 1080 chip while the Malaysian variant gets the 920 (which seems to be better than the SD 695 in the X9a though).

But the Software & UI on Honor more refined correct?

This phone also comes with 180 days crack screen protection & Honor Choice Earbuds X3

Any good promo for this phone currently?

Yes 180 days screen warranty and earbuds.

Got no idea about software & UI as well as any promos. The x9a has been off my shortlist for some time. A kind malaysian reviewer told me to wait a bit cos something interesting was on the way...and now it's here (i think). The oppo reno 8T. Will compare it to the realme 10 pro plus when I have time tonight.

How about oppo 8t 5g, slightly higher price than honor x9a

Latest 5g midrange is something like vivo 27e

If wouldn't buy honor phone as there is no SD card expansion slot.
