Hi,

I am using Iphone 13 on Maxis plan
recently upgraded software to 16.2
noticed my phone is on VOwifi when I am logged into Wifi area, eg. house.
does this mean that when I am in wifi, Maxis actually forcing me to use Wifi for phone calls, meaning I am actually using my Unifi.
meaning Maxis short changing me?

what do you guy think?

You can opt to turn off VoWifi in your phone settings if you prefer to.

Despite on wifi, you are still connected to Maxis network and they are still offering you the voice services. When your friend calls you, you still can receive the call …

Mobile technology usually rather poor indoor, and voice will also be poor, vowifi can give better call experience.

There is option to disable vowifi if one insist to have worse call experience but you have to ask yourself whether it is eventually what you prefer?

So instead of dwelling into whether Volte or Vowifi, the real question is which one delivers better call experience… for my case one 1 bar LTE at home, Vowifi improves my call experience significantly…

I do have blind spots for my unifi at home, especially upstairs back room.
In that room my max is mobile signal strength is 5 bars but unifi is very weak.
Do I need to turn the vowifi off every time I go into the room or it will auto switch to maxis mobile?

If not mistaken every phone brand has its algorithm to determine which is the best voice service either using wifi or mobile … so we do not need to worry about to switch or on/off any of the tech …
